Holy Monastery of Saints Anargyroi – Ermioni (15 km)

Just 15 km from Makis Inn Resort, near Ermioni, lies the Holy Monastery of Saints Anargyroi, one of the most important pilgrimage destinations in Argolida.

The monastery is renowned for its healing springs, known since antiquity. Although its exact founding date is unknown, it is estimated to have been established around the 11th century. Every year, many pilgrims visit the monastery, especially during its feast day on 31 June, on the eve of the Saints’ celebration. Its serene atmosphere and natural surroundings make it particularly popular during the Easter period.

Holy Monastery of Prophet Elias – Island of Hydra

Opposite Thermisia, on the historic island of Hydra, stands the Holy Monastery of Prophet Elias, built on the slopes of Mount Elias.

Access is via a hiking path of approximately one hour through pine forest, gradually leading to a place of calm and prayer. Founded in 1813 by Athonite monks of the Kollyvades movement, the monastery houses an important library, systematically organized around 1870.

During the Greek War of Independence in 1821, the monastery played a significant historical role, as it served as a place of exile for Theodoros Kolokotronis and other leaders.

Holy Monastery of Saint Eupraxia – Island of Hydra

A short distance from the Monastery of Prophet Elias, at an altitude of about 515 meters, lies the Holy Monastery of Saint Eupraxia. Founded in 1819, it has operated as a women’s monastery since its establishment.

It is known for its spiritual tranquility and for its traditional weaving, an integral part of its monastic life and heritage.

Holy Monastery of Saints Fotini & Elisabeth – Island of Hydra

The Holy Monastery of Saints Fotini and Elisabeth is the most easily accessible monastery on the island of Hydra, located in the pine-covered area behind the island’s stadium.

Founded in 1860, it is also a women’s monastery. Today, it is home to two nuns, preserving a simple and quiet character ideal for personal prayer and reflection.

Holy Monastery of Saint Dimitrios Avgo – Didyma (32 km)

On a steep slope of the Didyma mountain range, about 32 km from Makis Inn Resort, stands the impressive Holy Monastery of Saint Dimitrios Avgo.

Ecclesiastically belonging to the Holy Metropolis of Hydra, the monastery is closely connected to the Rados River, which visitors cross when approaching from the area of Iria. Its isolation and wild natural beauty enhance its deeply spiritual atmosphere.

Holy Monastery of Kalamio (45 km)

The Holy Monastery of Kalamio is set within a beautiful mountainous landscape rich in natural vegetation. Easily accessible from the village of Adami, it lies approximately 45 km from Makis Inn Resort.
