The Argosaronic Gulf, with clear waters, a rich seabed, and calm conditions, is ideal for activities that combine nature, history, and authentic contact with the sea.
Snorkeling
The great diversity of the Argosaronic seabed, the clear waters, underwater rocky caves, reefs, and Mediterranean fish species turn snorkeling into a truly memorable experience.
Of particular interest are the underwater archaeological remains, located just a few meters from the beach of Makis Inn Resort. They are visible only by swimming and using a mask, in calm weather conditions.
Underwater archaeological area – Temple of Thermasia Demeter
In the sea area directly in front of Makis Inn Resort, according to recent archaeological data and on-site indications currently under scientific evaluation, it is considered highly likely that the temple of the goddess Thermasia Demeter is located there.
The site is not accessible from land. Observation is carried out exclusively by swimming with a mask and is strictly a gentle, respectful form of viewing.
Guests are explicitly informed that:
- they must not touch, move, or collect anything,
- even if it is stones, ceramics, or other finds,
- the area is treated as a protected and active archaeological field.

we are guardians of the place, not intrusive users of it.
Diving
Due to its location in the Argosaronic Gulf, Makis Inn Resort offers the possibility of diving for all levels, in cooperation with certified diving centers in the area.
Activities are suitable both for beginners and experienced divers and may include:
- recreational dives,
- training programs,
- diver certification.
Upon arrangement, we organize diving with an additional charge, at nearby dive sites in the Argosaronic.
Fishing & Full-Day Sea Experience
Makis Inn Resort offers guests the opportunity to live an authentic full-day fishing experience, ideal for families, couples, and groups of friends.
Upon arrangement, we cooperate with an experienced professional fisherman, who picks up participants from the island of Hydra and accompanies them on a full-day sea excursion.
- participation in real fishing, with guidance and basic techniques,
- cooking and a meal with whatever is caught,
- a stop for swimming at a beach on the island of Hydra,
- relaxation and contact with authentic island life.
The activity is hands-on, requires no previous experience, and is adapted to the ages and abilities of the participants. It takes place in calm weather conditions and is organized upon arrangement.
Crewed Boat Rental
For those who wish to live the experience of a mini cruise, Makis Inn Resort offers the possibility of renting crewed leisure boats.
Upon arrangement, we can organize, for a fee, a one-day sea excursion to selected destinations in the Argosaronic, combining swimming, relaxation, and exploration.
